Marta Ayala, -the match maker- I met Marta Ayala back when there was a department of Latino Affairs. Martha plays an important role in the cultural development of latinos in Chicago one of the most important gifts that she brings is that of introducing people that need to know each other. She helped, also to bring artists that have made major contributions to the cultural life. Besides, she participated in various performances at the now defunct Mo Ming gallery.

Carlos Tortolero and the Mexican vision. One track mind, stubbornness and demand for respect for Mexican culture is what moves Tortolero. Quality programs presented in a well managed professional museum with the Mexican theme is what moves this man to achieve international status. During the life of the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum of Chicago he has surrounded himself with a greatly talented team that has included Helen Valdez, Rene Arceo, Encarnacion Teruel

Pepe Vargas
In what began as a need to present quality Latino films by projecting them on a wall on an empty parking lot, has developed, under the leadership of Pepe Vargas, into one of the most important Latino film festivals in the world. He does not go about it alone but surrounds himself with a magnificent board of directors and a partnership with Columbia College.
